Every year in October, we welcome grandparents to join us for the morning. They spend time in class participating in fun activities with their grandchildren and attend mass with our school community. It is a great opportunity for grandparents to see our school and learn more about a St. Joseph School education.
To honor our veterans, we organize a Field of Honor displayed in November during Veterans Day. We sell flags to be placed in our Field of Honor recognizing any veterans who served or are currrently serving, and the funds are donated to the Veterans Outreach Center. We held an Opening Ceremony in St. Joseph's Church that included Fr. Jim, our Town Supervisor, and the Boy Scouts. The field was displayed for a week in front of St. Joseph's Church.
Our Christmas concert is one of our favorite traditions! Grades K - 6 perform Christmas songs for parents and grandparents in the church. The Christmas concert is a special opportunity for students to sing and perform for the St. Joseph School community and we look forward to it every year.
Our Pre-K and Kindergarten students along with their parents and grandparents attend a Breakfast with Santa during the school day. The Knights of Columbus generously made pancakes and sausage for breakfast, and our amazing Foundation sponsored the event. Santa walked around to all other classrooms and visited every student at SJS. We look forward to this tradition every year!
