a.
Development: The committee met on February 21. They are
currently working on many tasks, including filling out the Rochester
Area Common Application Form. They plan to draft a letter for the
September packet to explain Development and its purpose, as well as
solicit information from families that can assist in this endeavor.
b.
Enrichment: All clubs are going well this session. Mrs.
Caterisano will be starting a new club, which will promote fitness
fun. All applications are due April 4 for the May and June
sessions.
c.
Fundraising: The committee continues to meet and works to
prepare for the Gala. The goal of this event is to raise money to
benefit the technology of the computer lab in school that our
children use every day. This is also a great way for parents to meet
other St. Joseph parents. Tickets for “A Springtime in Paris” on
March 29, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Penfield Country Club are now
available for purchase.
d.
Public Relations: Press releases have been sent and media
notified for coverage of the Gala. Media will also be contacted for
the spring musical and for other end of the school year events.
e.
Special Events: The family fun night Winter Carnival was a
huge success. The children had a great time playing games and
winning prizes. Thanks to all of the volunteers that helped with
the event and made it a fun evening for everyone.
f.
Technology: A new server for the computers was ordered
through the DOR. The Interwrite boards have been installed, and
training is being looked into for the teachers.
g.
Welcoming: Debbie has contacted and will continue to
communicate with the SAC teams from St. John and Holy Trinity to
help with questions, concerns as we move forward to welcome the
students and parents to St. Joseph school. The welcoming committee
is continuing to look into options for creating communication with
the new students and existing students by becoming pen pals and
having a combined field trip day at the end of the year. |
