Call to Order

Sr. Christina opened the meeting with a prayer, and Peter Caines moved to begin the meeting.

Attendance

Attendance was taken by the Secretary.

 

3.

Secretary’s report

The minutes of the previous meeting were approved with changes.  Peter moved and Debbie seconded for the minutes to be approved.

 

4.

Treasurer’s report

 There were not any requests for money at this time.

 

5.

Principal’s report

~ November 14 and 15 were the NY State Social Studies exam for the 5 th Grade.

~ The Student, Parent Teacher conferences have begun to take place.  Pre K classes were held on November 14 and 15.

~ The Christmas Musical “A King is Coming To Town” will be held on December 13, 2007 at 7:15 pm. Grades 6, 5, and 1 will be performing as well as the Tone Chime Choir and the School Band.

~ December 6 th will be the Kindergarten Information Night from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.

~ Sr. Christina, Doreen Salamone, Peter Caines, and Mrs. Sinclair attended the Catholic Schools Task Force meeting to discuss and learn of the Diocese plans for the Task Force Committee.

~  The Charles Schwabb Foundation gave to St. Joseph’s School a $5,000 gift toward the library automation program.

~The Interactive White Boards have arrived to our school and will be placed in Mrs. Tripplet’s room and the music room.

~  The Middle States Accreditation team will be at St. Joseph School beginning April 8.  Sr. Christina, the teachers and the steering committee are finalizing the long range plans and the reports. 

 

6.

Committee Reports

a.       DEVELPOMENT:  Sr. Christina and Debbie are currently working on securing a Chair and a Co Chair.

b.      ENRICHMENT:  Organization has begun for planning next semester’s club activities. 

c.       FUNDRAISING:

~  Jackie Vigliotti is continuing to prepare for the WINE TASTING AND AUCTION that will take place on SATURDAY MARCH 29 at the PENFIELD COUNTRY CLUB.  The theme is “Springtime in Paris.” On Thursday, November 15 Jackie and Doreen met with volunteers to set up committees.  If you are interested in volunteering or can help in any way please contact:  Jackie Vigliotti (585-752-8970) or Doreen Salamone (585-388-1073). 

        ~  The Wreath and Poinsettia Sale:  Orders have been placed and pick up day will be Thursday, November 29 from 12:00pm – 6:00 pm at the school foyer/lounge.

        d. PUBLIC RELATIONS:  The Penfield Post will be attending the 2nd Grade pie-baking event on November 19.   An article will be sent out regarding Brownie Troop # 686 collecting cases of cookies to be donated to the troops in Iraq.

        e. SPECIAL Events:  Thank you all for attending the Halloween Dance.  It was a success and a lot of fun.

         f. TECHNOLOGY:  Mike Caito will chair this committee.  They will be meeting to update the technology plan.

         g. WELCOMING:  The committee will begin to prepare for Catholic School’s Week, which is the week of January 27, 2008.

Other

SAC will not meet in December.
