Responsible for the creative and managerial efforts for all advancement efforts on behalf of St. Joseph School, establishing a reliable funding stream needed for classroom support, educational programs, and learning enhancements.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Identifying funding sources for special projects, i.e. grants, underwriting, etc. and overseeing the completion and submission of such funding applications.
- Collaborating with the Finance Committee and SAC to develop long term strategies for meeting the operational needs of the school.
- Exploring and implementing new and innovative methods of fundraising, to include an Annual Appeal that cycles throughout the academic calendar.
- Utilizing available resources from within the school community of current and former families for goods and services for hire or through donation.
- Creating and revising development campaign and/or grant materials.
- Overseeing capital campaign efforts.
- Working in conjunction with Special Events Committee to develop feasible, profitable projects and programs to generate funding and cultivate friends for the school.
- Working in conjunction with Marketing/Publicity Committee to advance the profile and presence of the school in local media through various school related activities.
- Cultivating prospects for the purposes of inclusion on mailing list, consideration for volunteer efforts, identifying donor potential, solicitation of SAC participation.
- Maintaining open lines of communication between school and alumni, between school and current students’ families, and between school and community businesses and other organizations. Methods to include semi-annual newsletter, periodic mailings regarding various funding efforts, special events.
- Creation of annual committee budget to be submitted to Finance Committee.
Meetings are scheduled on a monthly basis.
Chair reports to SAC with a detailed report of committee activities.
